Here are just a few examples of where your United Way donation is going, and the impact you are making on our community. Last year:
- Winona County American Red Cross assisted in 16 single family fires and 4 multi-unit fires, connected 23 military families in times of emergency, and trained more than 4,000 students in first aid, life guarding, babysitter training and more
- Big Brothers Big Sisters, between Trempealeau and Winona Counties, matched 425 kids with Bigs, helping to give them self-confidence and a positive role model
- Riverland Girl Scout Council provided 10 girls with assistance for camp, 19 girls with assistance for membership fees and uniform components, and provided financial support to 4 new troops
- Key Kids provided scholarships to 17 families so they could access after-school care for their children. More than 400 children participate in Key Kids/Kampus Kids
- Habitat for Humanity built homes for four families and gave them the help and resources they would need to be effective homeowners
